how many ads per year

Post by Kat »

Hi, can anyone tell me how many adverts w. music are released on average every year in the UK, on TV, radio and cinema?
I've spent a lot of time trying to find this information, but am running out of time.
Thanks for your help.

I suggest just saying 99.9%. There's hardly any advert that doesn't use music.

Thanks for the reply, but what I meant is the actual number of adverts per year.

I know, what i meant is, i doubt you will find out an answer. On the basis that i don't think that sort of record is kept. Unless you find out all the advertising companies and ask them.

Cheers Rob,
I guess I'll just keep keep searching the net, and might stumble upon the number if it is recorded anywhere.

I've just had a thought. Have you tried these people: http://www.asa.org.uk/asa/

As i understand it they have to give the ok before an advert can be aired on TV, so they're most likely to know.

Or try these people: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/

They're more to do with keep a check on TV broadcasters, but they might point you in the right direction if you ask them.
