hello,
can anyone help me to get the name of the song from the heineken advert, or the artist(s) that sing it.
The advert that I'm talking about is the one where the guy is smuggling the kegs of Heineken across the border in the back of his truck. I think it's supposed to be a cuban or mexican border ?
The guy has the kegs' heineken logo covered up, using another brand label. The soldiers have no intrest in the other brand and allow him across the border with the kegs.
The ad starts off with 1940's / 1950's music sung by "Edith Piaf". The music changes to a modern upbeat latin sounding track.
It is the track at the end of the advert that i am interested in. It is not sung in english - again it sounds spanish / cuban / mexican ?
If anyone can help identify this song, I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN...
ok - I've seen this ad again just a few hours ago.
He's smuggling kegs of heineken into mexico in his truck.
The guards take boxes of what they think is cigars, or something of value.
they leave him keep the beer, thinking it's a cheaper brand.
he continues across the border, the guards discover that the boxes they confiscated, are full of old boots.
Meanwhile he's back home in mexico, showing disappointed relatives the kegs of cheap beer. They break into laughter and celebration as he peels off the brand stickers to reveal that they are actually Heineken kegs.
The song I'm looking for information on is the one that starts playing as the friends and relatives start partying, just after the labels are peeled off the kegs.

Going Nowhere ...
This Just doesn't seem to be going anywhere,
I'm getting the feeling than I'm gonna have to give up on this one.
I have no new information to add other that where the different pieces of music are played in the ad.
Advert starts off with the guy listening to "Edith Piaf - Non, je ne regrette rien" on the radio, as he drives his truck towards the mexican border. He turns off the radio as he approaches the guards.
Guards examine his papers, and take the boxes from back of the truck.
Guard returns his papers, and leave him with the kegs / barrels of booze in back of his truck. He drives across border and heads home.
Still no music playing at this point. (not since before he got to the border)
He's showing off the kegs to an older (stereotypical) fat mexican dude, who's dissapointed with the brand of beer, untill he peels off the labels to reveal the heineken logo.
At this point the song I'm interested in begins to play until the end of the ad..
The older guy, followed by the rest of the town's people begin to cheer him, celebrate, and get gargled on the heineken.
The ad shows about another 10-20 seconds of the town celebrating, while the music plays.
It's a song that sounds spanish / mexican - definately some latin language.
It's an upbeat song, ends on a high note, with what sounds like the word "Gon-do-lah".
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN !!!
IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY NOW - MAKES ME WANT TO DRINK TO FORGET !!!
I'm gonna have to try and record the music if I can and post it. (Not entirely sure if that's legal to do here though ?)
Thanks in advance for ANY help you can offer.

The problem is as you've indicated that being an 'old' ad it seems difficult to find anywhere to view it, that does not involve membership. It would be helpful if you gave details of the channel you saw it on.
Some of the answers may take a long time to find.

ok ....
here's a link to a different version of the ad, slightly shorter, but same music that i'm interested in at the end.
http://www.heineken.com/ireland/cc/3/es ... c/tvc7.wmv
It's free to download, and is only 1.21 MB on disk.
It's the last piece of music that is played after the labels are peeled off.
This version is doesn't play as much of the song as the one that's currently playing daily on Irish TV channels, but It might help to identify it.
PLEASE HELP !!!
Thanks again.

Hieneken advert
Song is entitled LA TOMBOLA. Unknown female artist.
Thanks VERY much John,
got to listen to a 1967 version of this song by an artist named "Marisol", but it's not the version I'm looking for.
At least I now have something to work with.
If I do manage to track down the artist who sings it in the ad, I'll post her name here.
Thanks again John,
You've been a HUGE help.
