Post by andy_moza »

Does anyone know what music is used in the advert about loans, I think the company is called 'Picture' and the slogan is 'Picture The Loan'??
Thanks

Is this the one with the guy being camcorded by his wife talking about football while applying for the loan? Or the one with the Geordie housewife applying for a loan while her kids are shouting about a missing scooter and stuff?
These are the only Picture Loan ads I know of at the moment and they both use the same piece of music, which is called "Left Bank Two" and is by Wayne Hill.
It's something of a well-recognised institution among us thirty-somethings, having been used for years on Tony Hart's kids art programme "Take Hart" during the late '70's to early '80's for the "Gallery" section of the programme (Gallery - Picture - see what they did there?), before being replaced by John William's "Cavatina" from the film "The Deer Hunter".
It would have turned up on some BBC records over the years so should be available without too much trouble in some form or another.

Probably more information than you needed, but you can always bore your mates down the pub with it. Assuming, of course, I've got the advert you meant...
