Let's take a trip back to The Noughties. A world before Shazaming and smart devices became ubiquitous, where websites were the same size in pixels as an icon is now. A time when big advertising budgets were yet to be eroded by social re-targeting, influencers and in-house brand agencies. In a small corner of the internet somewhere in South-East London, there was a database growing of an unlikely but popular internet curiosity — songs from TV adverts.

Running for six years, and growing to a size of over 2,500 entries, Commercial Breaks and Beats was one of the first music communities on the internet, and the supporting messageboard was home to hundreds of avid musos, contributors and advertising professionals. The original .ASP files were found on an dusty old hard drive and it has been lovingly restored, like a vintage car, in PHP in a celebration of pointless nostalgia.
